People and staff of IAS, including members of the committee and other friends of IAS, all came together for a friendly social game of lawn bowls on Tuesday 24th March at the Inverell East Bowling Club. It was a mild sunny day, enthusiasm was high, and bragging rights were at stake. For many of us it was the first time ever, many wild and spirited bowls were flung, and many laughs were had. Some of us also demonstrated some natural flair for the sport, and others of us were just lucky. After several hours of cheer and contest, the triumphs and failures, congratulations and condolences, we all relaxed to a sausage sizzle in the shade, courtesy of teamwork by Sharon and Tamara on the BBQ. All in attendence agreed that Lawn Bowls Day was a great success, and a perfect excuse for another kind of social event to squeeze into the IAS calendar.
IAS would like to thank everyone who attended the event, you all helped to make the day so positive and fun. IAS would also like to extend a big Thank You to the East Bowling Club for graciously hosting the event, and for helping some of us with our bowling technique.
Cheers!
