Farewell Barry, We'll Miss You.

12th July 2020

IAS would like to take time to remember Barry Rice who passed away last month. Our deepest thoughts go to Trish and family. Barry and Trish have been part of IAS for many years, were part of the team for Our Voice Our Journey to the Gulf, the Ride for Recognition, Bingara Riders, Copeton Dam camping trips and plenty of other activities. They supplied the truck for supplies, the beautifully quiet and tolerant horses and all the riding gear for our off road adventures. What they didn’t have, Barry rounded up through his network of good blokes and bush telegraph. Barry and Trish graciously hosted Farm Days; when we arrived the campfire was burning, the horses ready and the billy on. The damper was always close. We remember Barry as a remarkable man; spirited, caring, adventurous and always brimming with bush yarns and old time stories. Barry gave his time, his belongings , his companionship , but most of all Barry gave his heart to each one of us he met. He was a true larrikin and so very lovable. We have no doubt Barry is now with his beloved horse Doc, having one more ride and creating more stories to pass on. Barry had the capacity to meet everyone equally, he never judged and wholly accepted each one of us and appreciated what we brought to this life. We will remember Barry for all he was, but most particularly we will remember Barry for how he made us feel when we were with him.
